Our Church Family

We aim to be welcoming to and inclusive of all people here at St Barnabas and we hope in the warmth of our human welcome you will see something of God’s love for you.

St Barnabas, Swanmore - making Christ known in our community through care for all, welcoming hospitality and worship for all ages

We aim to be a generous-hearted and welcoming inclusive Christian family in the centre of Swanmore with a ministry that reaches out from our parish church into the wider community.

All Christians are on a voyage of discovery with God. If you are just passing through we hope you find spiritual refreshment here. If you live in or near Swanmore we hope you’ll return and that you might be able to make a home with us. If you are a Christian, may this be a place from which you can draw strength and encouragement to sustain you as you seek to live a Christian life in your everyday life, whatever that may be for you.

If you are interested in knowing more about the Christian faith don’t hesitate to be in touch and we will do all we can to help.
God Bless you.

OUR HISTORY

Swanmore was originally part of the parishes of Droxford and Bishops Waltham, until 1845, when St Barnabas was built to serve its growing population. A lively church family has been here since then.

OUR COMMUNITY

We are a growing church family of all ages for all ages. We enjoy gathering together for worship, for learning about our faith, and socially. We want our Christian faith to influence our whole lives.

OUR FAITH

We believe that a relationship with God is possible through Jesus. We express and learn about this in our services, through prayer and study of the Bible. We learn too from one another.

The Meon Valley Parishes

The new vision for the Meon Valley places St Barnabas, Swanmore alongside; Droxford, Corehampton, Meonstoke, Exton, Hambledon, Soberton and Newtown under one Benefice. For a full account of the recent changes and how we are now seeking to work together across the Meon Valley, please read Revd Andy Davis’ article through the link below.
