Bible verseRomans 8:1-2[1]There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.[2]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. |
Welcome
As vicar and churchwardens of the Parish of Swanmore, we greet you on behalf of the whole congregation at Saint Barnabas’ Church and invite you to join us at any of our various services and activities. The details of services can be found in the 'Monthly Calendar' which can be accessed from the right hand column of this Home page. The main Sunday morning service starts at 10am. Finding the Church. The church building and adjoining Paterson Centre are on a corner site in the middle of the village, opposite the shops in New Road and the Church of England (Aided) Primary School in Church Road. The church is open daily from early morning until dusk. If you are using your satnav system to find us, you may need the postcode, which is SO32 2PA. This website introduces some of the important aspects of our life as part of the local church family. Since January 2007 the Church of England Parish of Swanmore has been served by the Wykeham Group Ministry, which includes Shedfield and Wickham. Here in Swanmore there is a Methodist Church in Chapel Road, and in nearby Bishop’s Waltham a Roman Catholic Church as well as churches of other denominations. All are members of the local ecumenical group called Churches Together in Bishop’s Waltham Area. The Parish Magazine, delivered free to every home in the village, contains a great deal of useful information about the community, its amenities and organisations, and includes a full diary of church and community activities. If you are a resident and you fail to receive a copy of the magazine, or if you would like to know anything more about the Parish, please do not hesitate to contact us or e-mail us at office@stbarnabas.org.uk. We would be very pleased to hear from you. We wish you God’s blessing and look forward to having the opportunity to get to know you.
The Revd Canon Peter Kelly, Vicar John Sharpe and Tony King, Churchwardens
